{Brown Bread}
{Ingredients}
1 1/2 cups warm milk
2 Tbsp salted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 2/3 cups flour
1 cup ground oatmeal
1 Tbsp cocoa
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
1 Tbsp oatmeal (for top of loaves)
{Directions}
Warm milk. Add yeast and sugar. Let proof. Add oatmeal, cocoa, salt, butter. Stir in flour and mix until dough pulls away from the sides. Let rise. Form into six to eight baguettes. Place on oiled pan. Cut three slits with a sharp serrated knife on top of each loaf. Moisten tops with water and sprinkle oatmeal on loaves. Let rise again. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
